Real-world experience through a real-world model to achieve real-world results.
Introducing the 1860 Investment Fund:
a first-of-its-kind, student-led organization at LSU.
As a student-managed, nonprofit investment fund, our mission is to provide a multi-year, hands-on experience in portfolio management and equity research for students in the E.J. Ourso College of Business at LSU.
Investing primarily in public equities, our undergraduate members will seek to model a well-diversified portfolio across multiple sectors, using the S&P 500 as an annual benchmark.
Members will receive hands-on experience and exposure to financial markets, giving them a competitive edge in understanding industry dynamics and trends, and better preparing them for careers in finance early on.
The 1860 Investment Fund will model a real-world firm, both in portfolio allocation and membership structure.
Members will receive the most authentic, educational, and applicable experience possible through tangible experience, industry preparation, and alumni networking - all with the goal of preparing more LSU students to break into and succeed in prestigious roles in finance.
